I wanted a watch that was accurate (the main function of a timepiece), durable, easy to read in the dark, such as when driving at night, and looked good enough for either casual or dress wear. Mission accomplished. This watch has proven accurate to within two seconds a month as checked against the official time clock on-line. I have friends with far more expensive watches that are no more accurate. It is easy to read in the dark and I appreciate the appearance of this watch. I especially appreciate that it is a substantial watch, but not one of the pie-plate sized monstrosities that the "main herd" seems to find currently fashionable. I did not want a piece of flashy jewelry that attracts the attention and comments reported on in so many of the watch reviews I have read. With this watch, the closer you look, the more you appreciate the quality and the appearance. Why not five stars? Two reasons: First, the large red second hand (that acts as a stop watch as part of the chronograph function) resets to the one second mark, not to the 12 o'clock position. I am sure I could have exchanged or returned the watch for this minor annoyance, but for me it was not worth the trouble since I very rarely use the watch's chronograph / stopwatch functions. Second, the black steel bracelet showed some minor signs of wear after only one day of typing as my wrist rested on my desk. I have already purchased a black rubber watch band to replace it when the wear becomes excessive. For me these are minor issues. My main needs are met, I am well pleased, and this watch inspires confidence that time will prove it to be very durable.

I've become a big fan of tritium-illuminated watches and after quite a lot of research elected to go with the Traser as it is a reasonable compromise between price and function. Ball watches are a bit too clunky and expensive, and Luminox didn't really have what I wanted, while Traser is a well-known brand and met my needs. In the picture the watch is a gunmetal color and quite attractive (black/gray) but in real life it's just solid black and a bit boring, with white hands and numbers and dots. The large date feature compensates for the lack of magnification via the Sapphire crystal, but the 1 is oddly off-set to the right, so that it is barely visible for all dates ranging from 10th through 19th. And the water resistance is only to 100m which means it's OK for swimming and showering but not for anything more serious.
BUT - for a general purpose watch it is very acceptable, very comfortable, and easy to live with. While the tritium illumination isn't as bright as on the cheaper Uzi Protector I also bought recently, it is good in no-light conditions and the fact that illumination is everywhere (each hour, two main hands plus the second hand) makes it very easy to read quickly, such as when you wake up in a hotel room halfway across the world and are wondering just what on earth the time is.

First of all let me say this watch is large. My body frame is slim and my height is 5'5" so this watch does fit perfectly on my wrist. I normally buy Citizen Eco-drive (I have three of them), but for some reason this watch caught my attention and never let me go. Let me list the Pros and Cons
Pros:
1.) I like the fact that the watch has weight on it. I like too know that I'm wearing a watch. So the weight issue is not an issue...great.
2.) Since I'm slender built, the band might seem a tad larger than I'm used to, but it's not really noticeable unless I pay attention to it.
3.) The second hand, on mine, hits the second mark right on the mark (pardon the pun).
4.) The numbers for the date are large enough that nobody should have trouble seeing that part.
Cons:
1.) Price, a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for.
I have not really seen the illumination that's advertised on the web page, but I get to that as soon as I can.
Overall I will purchase another Traser with a different face on the watch.
